Revolver

To get straight to the point, I was cut from Dragon, er, the new bay area team. I kinda new it was coming based upon the feedback I had received...but it was still a surprise, especially after learning all the other details.

I've been cut from teams before...so being cut is nothing new. Being cut can either cause you to quit, or fire you up.

To say I was fired up for this year is an understatement, as I realized it would be my last chance at a championship. However, this goes back futher...this more than likely is my last year in the bay area playing ultimate before moving back to ultimate hell (Chicago) next year. So, I've been fired up all spring and working hard to make the team, and yet stay injury free for the season. However, my demeanor, I guess, portrays me as not working hard enough all the time, or the way that I play does not show that I'm or "fired up" as people want me to be and some people need that type of emotional outburst. What it boiled down to has nothing to do with skill level, or lack of skill level, or experience, it was just the fact that they didn't like my personality and how I approached the game.

Let's just say I have a personal reason now, and as most people know, those can drive you quite far.

At any rate, after over a week of thought and speaking to some people, I can honestly say that I am really fired up about Revolver. The leadership is great and we have a bunch of young kids, a couple of new guys who want to make an impact, a few cuts from last year's JAM, and a couple other guys I've been wanting to play with.

Maybe I'm being overly optomistic in looking at this team, but my view is that Revolver will be the better team by the end of the year. Secondly, in two to three years, knowing the makeup of the new bay area team compared to Revolver, I'd bet Revolver is the team of the future as long as the nucleas holds...which I think it will be.

Labor day is coming soon.

So who made it? Who else got cut? Who is on Revolver and who's in charge?

Thanks Ariel. Definitely bittersweet. And am glad my prediction came true.
